Dave Peabody & Regina Mudrich

Ukrainian Community Centre, 14 Royal Terrace, Edinburgh EH7 5AB

London based Dave Peabody has an awesome pedigree as a blues based musician. He started performing in the mid-1960’s and has since toured constantly with a host of British and American musicians. He’s been voted three times “Acoustic Blues Artist of the Year” by the British Blues Connection and has been featured on well over 50 albums.

In 2014, while performing in Germany, Dave met violinist Regina Mudrich. Regina performed on five tracks of Dave’s 2014 CD “Right Now Blues” and they began to gig regularly as a duo. This year they’ve released the 17 track CD “Some of These Days” which showcases the duo’s wide musical range that encompasses not only a variety of blues styles, but also some early jazz based material.

The unusual combination of an acoustic blues performer with a classically trained musician gives the duo an interesting, dynamic and entertaining quality.

“The fact that classically trained Mudrich’s background isn’t in the blues brings a useful outsider’s approach to the songs” (Paul Slade – fROOTS magazine UK)

“The juxtaposition between Peabody’s considerable (blues) guitar prowess and Mudrich’s classical training bring a truly lovely aesthetic to the music” (Frank Matheis – Living Blues Magazine USA)
